Bishop's College Kingstown opened its doors on 20 January 1964 through the initiative of the late Right Reverend Harold Grant Piggott, Anglican Bishop of the Windward Islands. The first intake was approximately 180 students in six classes, and the Reverend Overton Gilkes served as the first principal.
